@ripetungi: Asks: Does anyone know why the stroke line in Ai CS5 will not reduce below 1 px? Its doing my nut in, can’t figure it out. HELP!!! Adobe Illustrator assumes if your preferences are set to pixels then you are publishing to the web. So why would you want anything less? Get into your preferences and change those increments to mm or to points and away you go. You can also just make a print style document or a basic document and that should set the record straight. WARNING… Mr. Crayons get very excited and drops some saucy language into the video so block your ears kids. Oh, and Nerdboy is back too, thank goodness.

@CS5apac is the “extract” back at the filters? I’m still using Photoshop CS3 because in CS4 it doesn’t have it. The extract tool was great, but making complex selections in Photoshop CS5 is much easier and Better. Why not watch this video from Adobe TV and Terry White. It explains how accurate and easy it is. The Extract tool was still availble as an optional plugin however, so was still available for CS4 too.
@ivegoneGRAPHIC: Asks; OK can’t believe I don’t know this, but… How do you break linked text boxes in InDesign to add a box in between? This is the very first Silent move thequestionroom dudes have mad. The answer was simple they felt there was no need to complicate things with a voice over. Using InDesign CS4 its just a matter of clicking the out port on a text frame and making a new frame. Rock on Nerd Boy and Mr. Crayons, is there anything you guys cant do? If it doesn’t make sense just watch the video.
@matthewbugg: Asks: Why does InDesign have 2 diff kerning methods? What a great Question. Mr. Crayons is on to this one. There are many options for kerning in InDesign and some take advantage of the fonts own settings. However the Optical option allows users to over- ride the fonts own kerning settings and create what is usually a much better looking set of text. There are of course a few extra tips in this video. Mr. Crayons rocks it out as usual.
@ReneGlez: asks: ….looking for a Flash CS4 – Drag and Drop Tutorial! …anyone? :-\ Well thats bold move Rene. It just so happens that Doug Winnie from Adobe has a great Video Tutorial on that particular topic posted on Adobe TV. So you seemed like a nice enough person and by your own description you are “Addicted to computers, and caffeinated drinks. A daytime dreamer.” Just like Nerd Boy here. So we hope you enjoy the Flash CS4 stylings of our buddy Doug.
We had 2 very similar Questions in the space of a few minutes. Nerdboy and Mr. Crayons are at it again. Some say they are just a pair of radical techno base jumpers, others just think they are a pair of Adobe Employees that that know way too much. Either way they seem to have all the answers. But first here are the questions.
@bobpotter asks I hadn’t heard of flash catalyst. It looks like a prototyping tool for apps, is it?
@terencecarroll asks If you want Spark components in #Flex 4 but don’t want Flash Catalyst, are you stuck with limited styling?

@alienmeatsack Asks: Why oh why did they take out the interactive part of photomerge in PS CS4??? Photomerge has come along way since earlier version. It now takes advantage of the complex seam carving engine in Photoshop CS4. This means it can create fantastic masks that pick the absolute best way to stitch images. Not only that, but with geometric distortion correction turned on it will detect what lens you were using on your camera and un-distort your images. Neat hey? No need for a tripod, just point n shoot.
First, you need to define the work area for rendering using the work area bar. You can position the handle along the timeline and resize it by dragging in the edges. Check out this doc page for step-by-step instructions. But I’m sure you already know how it’s done!
Next, you’ll export the video! And better yet, it’s already done for you. You don’t need to tell it to export the working area or a specific range. Check out the screenshot below, you’ll see the export window matches the work area by default.
@modius Control Click it to select it. Copy it. Go to create a new document. Photoshop will pick up the clipboard dimensions. Jot them down in reply to modius2 weeks ago
